TL;DR
The AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard annual fee rose from $595 to $695 on August 23, 2026, and the welcome offer jumped from 70,000 miles after $7,000 to 125,000 miles after $15,000. In exchange the card added up to $500 a year in American Airlines Vacations credits, a $100 inflight and lounge credit, two travel statuses for the primary cardmember, and $60 more in Lyft credits. Two things are on the way out: the 25 percent inflight discount and the $120 Grubhub credit. If you already hold the card, the new benefits are live now and the higher fee does not hit until a later anniversary.

What is new
Four benefits did not exist on this card before August 23. The largest is up to $500 a year in statement credits on eligible American Airlines Vacations packages and experiences, split into up to $250 January through June and up to $250 July through December. The two halves are independent, so an unused first half is simply gone. Next is up to $100 a year in statement credits on inflight and eligible Admirals Club purchases.
Then two statuses, both for the primary cardmember only. Complimentary Avis President's Club is open to enroll through August 31, 2028 via the AAdvantage Rewards page. Omni Hotels and Resorts Champion status carries one Omni Free Night Award per calendar year after a qualifying stay.
The Admirals Club membership itself did not change, though Citi now describes it as worth up to $1,400 rather than $850, which tracks higher lounge pricing rather than anything new for you.
What is gone
The flat 25 percent discount on inflight food and beverage purchases is being retired. Accounts opened before August 23, 2026 keep it through September 30, 2026, and new accounts never had it. The $100 credit is the replacement, so it is an upgrade unless you were spending more than $400 a year in the air.
The up to $120 a year Grubhub credit is also going. New applicants do not get it at all, and existing cardmembers keep it through August 31, 2027.
Who this affects
If you already hold the card, the timing runs in your favor. The better benefits went live August 23, 2026, but the higher fee arrives later. Cardmembers past 12 months are notified in August or September 2026 and pay $695 at their next anniversary. Anyone under 12 months is notified in August 2027 and pays at the anniversary after that. In practice that is months of new credits at the old price.
If you are applying now, you pay $695 from day one against a 125,000 mile offer with a $15,000 spending requirement. That is a much larger bonus behind a much larger hurdle, and it only pencils out if you were already going to put that spend somewhere.
The fee rose $100 and the new credits beat that on paper, but the biggest one only pays out on American Airlines Vacations bookings. Strip it out and you are trading the Grubhub credit and the inflight discount for a $100 inflight and lounge credit and $60 more in Lyft, which is close to a wash before the fee increase.
What to do about it
Two of the new benefits do nothing until the primary cardmember claims them. Avis President's Club is enrolled through the AAdvantage Rewards page, and Omni Champion status requires enrollment as well. Neither status starts on its own.
Then watch the calendar. The July through December halves of the Vacations credit and the full inflight and Admirals Club credit both expire December 31 and do not roll over, and the Lyft credit only triggers in months where you take three eligible rides, so two rides in one month and four the next earns one credit rather than two. The fine print
The $1,400 on Admirals Club membership is a stated value, not cash. Authorized users remain $175 for up to three, then $175 for each one after that. Everything else carries over: 4 miles per dollar on eligible American Airlines purchases and 1 mile elsewhere, first checked bag free on domestic American Airlines itineraries for you and up to eight companions, the $120 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit every four years, the $120 Avis and Budget prepaid rental credit, and no foreign transaction fee.
