How we make money, and how we don't

The Points Pro's core tools are free. We earn money in two ways: optional paid plans, and referral links. Paid plans (currently called Navigator) add convenience features such as email reminders and unlimited card tracking; paying never changes what any card scores, where it ranks, or what we recommend, for you or anyone else. Separately, when a card has an application link available, we may include an “Apply” action. Many Apply links are plain links to the issuer's own product page, and we earn nothing when you use them. Some are referral links: if you apply through one of those and are approved, we may receive referral compensation, and we mark every such link with a disclosure right where it appears. That is the only way we earn money from card issuers; the paid plans are paid by our users, not by issuers.

We are not part of any bank, issuer, or card-network affiliate or partner program, and we are not endorsed, sponsored, or reviewed by any card issuer. Any referral relationship, where one exists, is a simple per-application arrangement and does not make us an agent, representative, or partner of the issuer.

Referral compensation never affects our recommendations

Our rankings, estimated values, and comparison placements are produced by the same valuation methodology for every card, based on your inputs and published card data, never on whether a referral link is available or what it pays. A card with no application link is ranked exactly the same way as one with a paid link. We show a referral compensation disclosure clearly beside every compensated “Apply” link, consistent with the Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and disclosures.

Estimates, not guarantees

Reward values shown are estimates based on published point valuations, card earning rules, fees, benefits, and the information you provide.
Actual value depends on how and when you redeem, and on redemption availability.
Offers, benefits, fees, and terms may change at any time and may differ by applicant.
Eligibility and approval are determined solely by the issuer.
We do not guarantee approval, reward value, or any particular outcome.

How we estimate value

The Points Pro maintains its own set of estimated point and mile valuations, expressed in cents per point. These estimates are informed by publicly available redemption data and general industry consensus, and are used consistently across the site to convert rewards into comparable dollar figures. They represent our opinion for comparison purposes only; they are not offers, promises, or guarantees of value, and reasonable people (and other publications) value points differently.

Data sources & acknowledgments

Card facts are drawn primarily from official issuer sources (product pages, benefit guides, rates-and-fees documents, and cardmember agreements) and from official airline and hotel loyalty program pages. In researching and cross-checking card details and industry norms, we may also consult reputable points-and-miles publications. We gratefully acknowledge the work of these sources:
